Since its inception in 1995, How Artists See by Colleen Carroll has become one of the world’s best-loved children’s art book series. Each of the series’ twelve volumes gathers together sixteen diverse works by some of history’s greatest artists, grouped around a common theme such as Weather or Play, and asks young readers thought-provoking, observation-sharpening, imagination-stimulating questions about each work. Recently we sat down with Ms. Carroll for a two-part interview about her inspiration and concept for this series, as well as its spinoff series, How Artists See Jr., published this month by Abbeville. Our latest audio podcast contains Part 1 of that interview, which you can find by clicking this nice big link right here. Enjoy, and check back soon for Part 2!
